Responsibilities:

• Timely completion of engineering deliverables within man-hour budget;
• Technical preparations for the project;
• Ensuring that these preparations result into cost efficient project execution in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company, commercial requirements;
• "Fitness for purpose" of project deliverables, based on contractual specifications, codes and standards;
• Concept and method for fabrication, transportation, construction and installation;
• Ensuring that technical concept and method is in accordance with common industrial standard practice;
• Applying company’s technical expertise is to the maximum extent;
• Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore);
• Preparation and maintenance of Engineering Basis;
• Preparing Engineering Planning;
• Co-ordination, planning, control and progress reporting of engineering activities for the project;
• Technical liaison with Procurement QA/QC, HSE and Subcontractors.
• Coordination of engineering subcontractors;
• Compilation and finalization of As-Built Records Dossier;
• Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) applicable to his field of responsibility;
• Proposing, stimulating and realizing optimization and improvements in his area of responsibility;
• Analyze root causes of real time existing issues, document identified issues with the corresponding cause and solutions;
• Approve engineering deliverables;
• Perform technical communication with Subcontractors.

Directs:

• Engineers and draughts men in projects (Note that Engineering Manager directs Discipline Engineers functionally).

Reports to:

• Engineering Manager (functional);
• Project Manager (project related).

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Required:

• Practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and pipelay techniques;
• Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety, environment and security (QHSES) requirements;
• Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;
• Ability to work in a team and to co-ordinate activities;
• Prepared to travel and work at irregular hours;
• Prepared to work offshore;
• Ability to proactively plan for potential problems scenarios (Preparation of back-up plans).

Experience & Education:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in offshore engineering, of which at least 2 years in coordinating (project) engineering;
• Bachelor Degree in relevant engineering discipline;
• Relevant offshore training;
• Project management training.
