Since the late 1970's and during the 1980's Sea Trucks has been providing marine support services in the shallow offshore waters and inland waterways of the Niger Delta. During the 1990's Sea Trucks expanded further and acquired new and larger vessels operating in the offshore oil producing regions of Nigeria and West Africa.

In 2002 Sea Trucks commenced a major building programme to develop a fleet of large, multi capability offshore DP3 construction / accommodation vessels. Today Sea Trucks operates 5 newly built DP3 construction / accommodation vessels and two more are under construction.

To support its global operations the group opened support offices in The Netherlands and United Arab Emirates, an operational office in Australia and a representative office in Shanghai to oversee vessel construction.
